Fiji Islands to New Caledonia – July and August 2019

Vuda Marina – Muscet Cove – Tanna, Vanuatu – Mare Island, New Caledonia – Noumea, New Caledonia

Stage one :: Vuda Marina to Musket Cove,Fiji, departure: 16 July (three-hour sail)

Musket Cove is a favorite watering hole of the yachties. Spalax 2 will spend two days there to enjoy a sundowner or two at the world-famous Island Bar.

Stage two :: Muscet Cove to Tanna, Vanuatu, departure: 19 July (four-day sail)

  

Tanna is a volcanic island. The Mt. Yasur volcano puts on a fantastic fireworks display every evening. Its crater is easily accessible to get a better look at the spewing lava.

Stage three :: Tanna to Mare, New Caledonia, departure: 26 July (overnight sail)

   

Mare Island is part of New Caledonia, featuring pristine beaches, excellent snorkelling and friendly local population.

Stage four :: Mare to Noumea, New Caledonia, departure: 29 July (overnight sail)

 

The last stage of the voyage will take us to the capital of New Caledonia, Noumea, and back to civilization, complete with French baguettes, French wine and French cheese.
